Since its acquisition in 1673 by Friedrich Christoph Freiherr von Hammerstein-Gesmold, Major General to Queen Christine of Sweden, the castle has been an integral part of the family for twelve generations.
With its historic and stylish ambience and its impressive castle garden, Schloss von Hammerstein offers you the perfect setting for your civil ceremony, wedding reception, birthday party, corporate event or castle tour for truly any occasion.
Tie the knot in over a thousand years old evangelical church in Apelern village center.
After the church wedding, you can reach the castle on foot in just five minutes, through the idyllic boulevard. Receive your first congratulations as a couple over a sip of bubbly in the palace garden and cut your wedding cake in the historic Orangery. While your guests are strolling among thousands of perennials in the flower garden, they are beaming into the camera on the picturesque white bridges and in front of the fountains. In the evening, the vaulted hall bathed in candlelight also invites you to a reception before the start of the wedding ceremony in the castle.

The entire castle in detail
The stylishly restored granary offers 60 to 160 people a prestigious setting for lavish celebrations as well as wine and dining pleasures on around 300 square meters. Outside, the adjacent castle park and the 150 square meter terrace can also be used.
In addition, the granary also offers space for about 250 people in the context of concerts, art exhibitions or theater performances. The granary has underfloor heating.
Meetings can also be organized in the premises according to requirements. For larger events we erect professional tents in the castle park.
Both locations offer space for family celebrations for up to 60 people, in summer also on the adjacent terrace. Underfloor heating allows use regardless of weather conditions.
Toast with Rheingau sparkling wine, Riesling and Burgundy wines from world-famous sites of the Freiherr Langwerth von Simmern winery. We will be happy to advise you on individual requests.
